If you’re working more than 40 hours a week for your employer and your employer is not paying you any overtime at all or isn’t paying you overtime for all of the hours over 40 hours that you’ve worked your options are to consider whether or not their failure to pay is against the law.
Many employers will tell you that you’re a salaried worker or that there’s some other reason that you’re exempt from being paid overtime but the truth is that oftentimes they simply get it wrong and that people who are on salary or workers who are being paid straight time for the time that they’ve worked should be paid overtime. If that seems like it applies to you, you should check with an attorney, tell them about your situation and have them advise you as to whether or not you should be paid the overtime that you’ve worked.
